HEALTH

For the promotion of basic health care facilities and improvement in the status of the mother and child health care the organization undertook intervention in the areas of reproductive and child health. We believe in preventive aspect of health care rather than curative aspect. Many more indigenous methods of preventive aspects are often applied and used by the poor in our project villages particularly the tribal people. They don’t have sufficient means of curative measure unless they use their own traditional wisdom; sometimes they use their wisdom when they get affected. Organization’s interventions are “Preventive Health Care” through organizing several immunization camps and sensitizing the government health facilities. At present the organization is undertaking following program.

In INHP III Program, supported by CARE Jharkhand, Jan Jagran Kendra has carried out different activities to meet the program’s intermediate and sub-intermediate results adopting program strategies. The activities covered all aspects of program implementation and were equally executed in our all INHP III program areas. The activities basically comprise of the activities at the field level like AWC visit, household visit, conducting different meetings at village and block level, monitoring the program of immunization, IPCs and BCCs in which common people in remote areas were approached and addressed about health and nutrition. Several BCCs were done to invoke rights awareness and participation of common man in getting health and ICDS services. It led to proper awareness in masses and opened their eyes and they started to come forward demanding their rights for good health and also participating in the process.
