TEAM LEADER & LIVELIHOOD DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Role and responsibilities:

1 - Set up the RFO
2 - Assist DPMU to induct FNGOs
3 - Facilitate training of FNGO staff in initial community mobilisation and concept seeding in project villages and perform these tasks jointly with FNGO in one village.
4 - Facilitate training of FNGO staff in forming SHGs through exposure and use of various PRA techniques and perform these tasks jointly with FNGO in one village.
5 - Facilitate training of FNGO staff in phased development of SHGs, training of group accountants and selfassessment by SHGs
6 - In collaboration with INRM specialists, facilitate training of FNGO staff in developing livelihood subplans and IGA sub-plans of GSRMLPs and potential enterprise clusters
7 - In collaboration with other team members, Train the FNGO staff in preparing Convergence Plans for MGNREGS, Art 275 (1), SCA to TSP and other schemes based on GSRMP cost estimates and Project Guidelines
8 - Based on GSRMP cost estimates and Project Guidelines; (viii) in collaboration with other team members, Train the FNGO staff in procedures of MGNREGA; SCA to TSP and Article 275
9 - Train the FNGO staff in preparing the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWPB) as per project guidelines and demonstrate it
10 - Train the FNGO staff in training of CRPs and GS-PEC members in project management, maintenance of meeting records, keeping financial records and management of VDF
11 - Train FNGO staff in reporting to DPMU
12 - Provide technical support to FNGO in SHG development and implementation of IGAs
13 - Conduct bi-monthly visits to project villages for backstopping and supervising progress
14 - Submit quarterly reports jointly with FNGO to concerned DPMU and SPMU on project progress
15 - Identify and document emerging best practices in SHG development and IGAs
16 - Identify and report to SPMU procedural and policy constraints in implementation for redressal
17 - Facilitate development of best practices for the utilization and management of VDF and Train FNGOs in the same
18 - Jointly with team members, develop outputs targets for each FNGO by village after a survey of project villages in collaboration with the FNGO staff and review performance of FNGOs based on the outputs targets
19 - Development a simple tool for performance assessment of FNGO performance
20 - Assist DPMU in assessing FNGO performance

Educational Qualification: She or he will be a professional with a Bachelors degree in agriculture and allied fields or in rural development with 10 years experience or a Master’s degree in agriculture and allied fields and rural development with 7 years experience of promoting livelihoods and income generating activities.

BRIDGE COURSE SCHOOL

Bridge Course is a strategy to mainstream the children of older age, especially for those children who have never been enrolled in any school or have dropped out, back to formal schools through a nine month course. The bridge course centre has the primary objective to bridge the gap of non – school going children to mainstream schooling. At these centres the children take up their initial learning of the habit of reading and writing. The bridge course is located at Hazaribagh, Barhi, Bundu, Churchu etc. This is supported by Jharkhand Education Council under its SSA Umberla. NRBC, NCLP and JEPC.

These children were also provided with study material, learning kits, playing equipment along with other facilities and trainings to make them meaningful citizen of the nation. In this financial year three child labour school were run at different location In the Financial year 2010-2011, 19 bridge course schools were started in Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Ramgarh, and Bokaro District. Some 470 students have been enrolled in the bridge course and after successful completion of the course, 453 students were enrolled in Government Schools.

KISHORI NIKETAN

Kishori Niketan Programme’s objective is to provide education to the girls who had never been to school or dropout from school due to some reason and mainstream them to nearby Government school for completion of their primary education and higher education. This is a Residential school for Adolescent girls of the age group of 8 – 14 years. This has been started in the year 2009 at Barhi, Bishnugarh and Church Block in Hazaribagh. Each school covers fifteen Panchayats. At the centre the girls are being provided by quality education, counselling, health education and vocational training for their bright future.

CHILD LABOUR RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL

India continues to host the largest number of child labourers in the world today. According to the Census 2001, there were 12.7 million economically active children in the age-group of 5-14 years. The number was 11. 3 million during 1991 (Population Census) thus showing an increase in the number of child labourers.

Jan Jagran Kendra believes that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and ending the exploitation of children. It is where the social and economical development begins. Jan Jagran Kendra is committed to provide education to all the childrens of Bihar and Jharkhand.

First child labour school was established in the year 2005 with the financial support of NCLP Hazaribagh. Presently three centres are running in Jharkhand. These Centres are situated in Barhi, Bishnugargh and Sadar block of Hazaribag District. Each centre is having enrolment of 50 Student every Year to provide them quality education. In this Financial Year 150 children were provided with the education facilities.

These children were also provided with study material, learning kits, playing equipment along with other facilities and trainings to make them meaningful citizen of the nation. In this financial year.

Three child labour school were run at different location

  1. Hazaribagh
  2. Barhi
  3. Bishnugarh

One Child Labour and Vocational Training Residential School was established in the year 2009 with the support of Japan consulate. This residential school is having all the basic amenities of class room, toilet, residential facilities, kitchen, mess and the playground. At the centre 50 children are studying. These children are residing at the residential school and they are studying and taking vocational training also.
