JJK is implementing the Bio-Diversity Act, 2002 in the Koderma District of Jharkhand with the support of the Jharkhand Biodiversity Board.
Committees Formed:- JJK has formed 115 Bio-Diversity Management committees’ (BMCs) and each committee consists of seven members.
- To promoting conservation, sustainable use, and documentation of biological diversity including preservation of habitats, breeds of animals, etc.
- JJK is supporting the BMCs to prepare the People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR) in consultation with the local people & the Technical Support Group
- The Register shall contain comprehensive information on the availability and knowledge of local biological resources, their medicinal or any other use or other traditional knowledge associated with them.
